When cancer walks through the door, everything changes.
Over the last few months, our community came together in the most incredible way to make sure families facing cancer across Sussex continued to receive the support they desperately need.
Because of you, we raised an amazing £19,334, reaching 38% of our £50,000 target.
To every single person who donated, fundraised, bought event tickets, raffle tickets, shared our appeal, hosted a bingo night, organised a quiz, supported an event or simply helped spread the word, thank you.
Your kindness has helped Wolo continue standing beside families when life feels at its hardest.
What Your Support Means
Across Sussex, Wolo is currently supporting more than 200 families affected by cancer.
A cancer diagnosis impacts every part of family life emotionally, physically and financially. Wolo exists to ensure no family has to face that journey alone.
Because of your support, families continue to receive:
Emotional wellbeing support and therapies
Practical help at home
Food vouchers and financial support
Family events and community connection
Wellness activities that improve physical and mental health
Support for children navigating a parent’s diagnosis
Wolo supports the whole family, not just the person diagnosed.
The Reality We’re Facing
Although the urgent appeal has now ended, the need for support has not.
Like many charities, Wolo continues to feel the impact of the current financial climate. During this appeal period, we sadly lost some regular monthly donors, while thankfully gaining some new supporters too.
This has taken our regular giving community from 23 monthly donors to 26.
We are so grateful for every single person who gives regularly because monthly donations give us something incredibly important, stability.
They help us plan ahead, respond quickly to families in crisis and continue offering support without waiting lists.
There are no other charities in Sussex offering the same level of bespoke family cancer support that Wolo provides.
