Your life is your story. Write well. Edit often.
Here’s our good friend Neil Laughton sharing his many ‘Wolo moments’ that have seen him travel the globe and break World Records. Life is what you make it. Inspire yourself. We only live once - make the most of every day.
‘Neil is trying very hard but achieving very little’, were the words said by the teacher of award winning entrepreneur, record breaking adventurer and former SAS Officer Neil Laughton! How wrong that assessment was for what Neil had in store!
Neil did not have an easy start in life with his early years being characterised by poverty and failure but with his determination and grit he was able to turn it around and go on to achieve countless ‘firsts’ and prove why he is very deserving of the title of ‘Inspirational speaker!’
This weeks’ interview on ‘Helen Bulkeley Talks with’ is ready to watch NOW on YouTube (link below) and a must watch. Here are just a few topic points I discussed with Neil to get the measure of quite how much he has achieved!
- Served in the UK Special Forces for 12 years
- Completed the ‘Explorers grand slam’ (Climbing the 7 summits and reaching both the north and the South Pole)
- Surviving the ‘worst storm in 100 years’ on Mt Everest
- Safety officer for when Bear Gylls flew a paramotor over Mt Everest (Neil also climbed Mt Everest with Bear Grylls)
- Flying the worlds first road legal car from London to Timbuktu!!
- Founded a construction company which grew to £40 million before being sold to a FTSE 100 company
- First person to circumnavigate the UK and Ireland on a jet ski
- Guinness world records for riding penny farthings with ‘no hands’ and hosting the worlds highest black tie dinner party
