Work for Wolo - Fundraising/Relationship Lead
Fundraising/Relationship Lead
Hours: 20 hours p/w
Pay: £40k FTE
Term: Initial 6-month contract (with potential for a permanent role)
Background and purpose
Wolo Foundation (We Only Live Once) helps to improve the quality of life of families living in Sussex on their cancer journeys. The bespoke support they offer includes practical help and emotional support, wellness opportunities and family experiences.
They work with local businesses and communities to offer all family members a wealth of services to support them through their diagnosis, treatment and beyond. They do this by offering opportunities for improved well-being, increased self-care and confidence; making memories, increasing family fun, and improving support networks by encouraging new friendships.
Wolo was set up 5 years ago following a local family’s cancer diagnosis in 2018. They were shocked to discover how little help there is out there for families facing cancer. Uniquely, Wolo offers support to the whole family. Having gone through similar lived experiences; Wolo are relatable, empathetic and inspiring.
A cancer diagnosis is devastating for the whole family - physically, and emotionally. Statistics show that 1 in 2 people in the UK born after 1960 will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Life is precious - we need to make the most of it - we only live once - Wolo!
